estimated performance from 980ti

what framerates should i expect from a 980ti on gtaV and modern warfare on the highest settings? Would a 5700xt perform better.

Yes, a 5700XT would perform signficantly better, up to 30-40fps more in GTA V (max settings), don't know much about Modern Warfare.

5700XT is quite a bit faster, something like 60% faster than the 980 ti. The GTX 980ti and the GTX 1070 are pretty evenly matched performance-wise but it's always good to keep in mind that nvidia is gonna prioritize newer gen cards when they're optimizing drivers for new games. Sometimes the older cards get left out a bit, happened to a huge extent with the 780ti.

5700-XT is up with 1080Ti & 2070 Super (depending on games)

 

My 5700-XT is not being pushed in DOOM Eternal for instance on maxed settings at 1080P, i am sure i would get high frames on 1440P too.
