What would be the best air cooler for a 5800x for my build

WhiskeyLeach

Hi guys, am looking for the best CPU Air Cooler I can get for my bulid.

I have a

  • Fractal Meshify c mid tower,
  • MSI B550 MORTAR (micro atx board)
  • Zotac 3080 OC
  • RAM (still deciding)

Any recommendation on which air cooler would be best and be able to fit of course.

do you have this?

If no, get a ATX board, like the b550-f gaming, matx in a atx case looks bad

As for cooler, either the Dark Rock Pro 4 or the Noctua NHD-15 cromax.black

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

assuming no fitment issues, the DRP4 is best, the d15 and fuma2 is very close behind.

If you want something that'll be more than adequate for your 5800X, while not being overly bulky:

https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/ZLtQzy/noctua-nh-u12a-6009-cfm-cpu-cooler-nh-u12a (this only comes in Noctua's traditional colour scheme at the moment though, so alternatively you could get a couple NF-F12 chromax.blacks on it and put them on instead of the NF-A12x25 fans that come with it; the advantage of the U12A is that it offers near NH-D15 or DRP4 performance, in a much smaller package)

https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/dMVG3C/noctua-nh-u12s-chromaxblack-55-cfm-cpu-cooler-nh-u12s-chromaxblack

https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/FRYLrH/be-quiet-dark-rock-4-cpu-cooler-bk021

If you don't really mind the size:

https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/84MTwP/noctua-nh-d15-chromaxblack-8252-cfm-cpu-cooler-nh-d15-chromaxblack

https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/F3gzK8/be-quiet-dark-rock-pro-4-505-cfm-cpu-cooler-bk022

Also, as a sidenote, keep in mind that the Meshify C is really not that great cooling-wise out of the box. I'd suggest picking up a couple of 140mm fans, and setting them up as intakes in the front of the case. I'd look for either Noctua NF-A14s or be quiet! Silent Wings 3 140mms.

Awesome! Thanks for compiling this list up I will consider it and also mentioning the case cooling as I have heard the Zotac 3080 will need significant cooling
