Viewsonic VX2458-C-MHD monitor with 960 4GB for 1080p 144hz Valorant

The ViewSonic VX2458-C-MHD 24-inch 1080p 144hz Curved Gaming Monitor is available to me for USD 162.26. I have an i5-3570 paired with a Gigabyte Single fan GTX 960 4GB. I am buying this monitor for Valorant@1080p144. Will my PC be able to manage it? Does my GPU have G-sync? This monitor has Freesync, will it work with my GPU? Is this monitor worth it?

At 1080p all low settings, the 960 should be able to push just shy of 144fps, probably a bit closer to 120.

The 960 4GB does support G-sync.

No. FreeSync support on Nvidia starts with the 1000 series of GPUs, so your model is not supported.

For a 1080p 144hz, USD 162.26 seems like a pretty average price to me. However, you're playing extra for FreeSync, which you can't use on your current PC. You might be able to find a 1080p 144hz monitor without FreeSync for cheaper.

Main PC:

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X • Noctua NH-D15 • MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk • 2x8GB G.skill Trident Z Neo 3600MHz CL16 • MSI VENTUS 3X GeForce RTX 3070 OC • Samsung 970 Evo 1TB • Samsung 860 Evo 1TB • Cosair iCUE 465X RGB • Corsair RMx 750W (White)

Peripherals/Other:

ASUS VG27AQ • G PRO K/DA • G502 Hero K/DA • G733 K/DA • G840 K/DA • Oculus Quest 2 • Nintendo Switch (Rev. 2)

Laptop (Dell XPS 13):

Intel Core i7-1195G7 • Intel Iris Xe Graphics • 16GB LPDDR4x 4267MHz • 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD • 13.4" OLED 3.5K InfinityEdge Display (3456x2160, 400nit, touch).

Got any questions about my system or peripherals? Feel free to tag me (@bellabichon) and I'll be happy to give you my two cents.

PSA: Posting a PCPartPicker list with no explanation isn't helpful for first-time builders :)
