3600 vs 5600x

Kanna

I'm not sure what to get since I will only be playing att 1080p and mostly GPU heavy games the 3600 is pticed at 2200kr and the 5600x is priced at 3200kr here in Sweden

Reminder⚠️

I'm just speaking from experience so what I say may not work 100%

The 5600X is objectively the better CPU, especially at 1080p gaming. But you have to decide yourself if the performance uplift is worth the extra money. For most people the 3600 is probably enough.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

I agree, but for some people. the extra performance is worth it, for others it isn't

After a BIOS update yes it would.

Depends on the board. But most X570 boards have the Zen3 BIOS available ot download.

Would that require another CPU?

Also depends on the board. Many have a flashback functionaloty nowadays, which allows to update the BIOS without any CPU.

No.  Some motherboards have a physical button they can press that will update the BIOS with no hardware connected to it except the power.  What CPU do you have in there now?

That has a Q-Flash button right on the mobo so you'll be fine.  Download the latest BIOS for the board, extract ONLY the BIOS file into a FAT32 formatted USB drive.  Connect the board to a PSU for power, insert the USB drive into the specific Q-Flash USB port on the mobo, then press the Q-Flash button and it will start updating the board.  Be patient, it can take some time.

Button is highlighted in red from this image I took from the board manual.  The USB port you should be using for this is clearly listed as BIOS.  It's the one with the white insert.  I attached an image of that as well below.
