I bought an old workstation from 2014 that's in great condition and very fast. I7-3700 16gb of 1600MHz RAM and I threw in a geforce gt 1030 as well as replaced the psu to a P450B 450w gigabyte psu.

I was overclocking with msi afterburner and decided to overvolt. I did not realise that the overvolt setting was in percent instead I thought it was in millivolts so I put it to +50%. I looked on the power supply calculator by outervision and this said by using the +50% voltage I am using 390w. Considering my psu is 80% efficient and typically under full load you should be using 70% could I have damaged anything in my pc from a power overdraw? I did not force constant voltage so does this mean my gpu wouldn't have even be using the extra 50% voltage I allowed? Should I be concerned or is everything ok?

Thanks

3770 and GT1030 combined cannot use that much power. I had 3570K running at 4.7ghz and still using less than 150ws also GT1030 can only use up to 75w.

I believe that +50% is a power limit on msi but i may be wrong, this wont overdraw your psu but might burn up your cpu

The % for voltage in MSI afterburner adds about 50-60mV at most at 100%.

It's so limited it makes damaging the GPU by using that slider basically impossible. GTX 1030 is only powered via the PCIe slot and can't draw more than 75W. It's power limited heavily and I doubt your entire system even with OC draws more than 200W at full load.

Thanks I needed to hear that. Letgomyleghoe said I could have burnt out my cpu by increasing the voltage of my gpu to that high. I highly doubt it and kind of sounds silly to me but is this accurate or not? and is it the voltage that does damage or is it the heat that comes along with it?

its not silly,  applying to much voltage to your gpu can damage it, but since werecat knows more about msi afterburner than me and said it adds very little voltage youre fine
