Is AIDA64 a subscription?

Go to solution Solved by porina,

How it used to work is that you paid for support (updates) for the duration. At the end, you can't upgrade to newer versions, but the old versions keep working.

I don't know if they changed that now. I last paid for 3 years, more than 3 years ago. I can still get updates and activate using my key.

I am planning to purchase AIDA64, but when checking out it shows this:

Is AIDA64 a subscription or a perpetual license?

Would my AIDA64 sill work (not switching back to trial mode) after the "Maintenance Period"?

Looks like they've gone the "rent to never own" model.

Sucks.

Yeah, looks that way, you get it for a year of use on up to 3 PCs, after that, pay up or go back to the demo model.

Personally, I don't think it's worth it, there are other programs for free that does (or can do) what AIDA can do.

The licence is permanent, it's just the maintenance/support that's available for a limited period of time. At least that's what it's like for me.

Now, in August 2023, they force old license holders to upgrade to the latest version, and then after they upgrade, they say that your old key isn't compatible anymore. Then when you attempt to buy a new license key, it's implied only for another year before the whole process starts back over. In essence, it's SaaS only, now. 😒
