Best non chromium browser which is not Firefox or Safari

I have been looking for a browser based on something that is not chromium and is not just Firefox or Safari, although it can be a Firefox Fork. I am on Mac so don’t suggest anything that is not compatibly with it please. EDIT: It can be webkit based

My Laptop: A MacBook Air

My Desktop: Don’t have one

My Phone: An Honor 8s (although I don’t recommend it)

My Favourite OS: Linux

My Console: A Regular PS4

My Tablet: A Huawei Mediapad m5

Firefox is pretty flexible and you can do pretty much whatever you want to it, but some folks would be water fox and tor

Seems you don't have much choice other than waterfox.

But then why is firefox not OK while a fork is, and not the same on the Chrome side...

I do not want chromium dominating the market and Firefox just is not that privacy respecting anymore and Mozilla seems to make most of its money from Google and I also want to try something new

Most web browsers make use of chromium (Chrome) or gecko (FireFox).

Safari and Gnome Web use WebKit, however Safari is for MacOS and Gnome Web is intended for the Gnome Desktop on Linux. They have weird compatibility as well.

Konqueror uses KHTML, but it has only received security updates since 2016 as QT moved to a chromium fork known as QTWebKit and Konqueror has been mostly replaced by other browsers. Linux Only, over complicated, poor compatibility.

Pale Moon and Basilik are built from Goanna, which is a fork of gecko. Still based on Firefox.

Then there is NetSurf, which uses its own engine and I know almost nothing about.

With that said, you can check here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_web_browsers

If you don't want something chromium based, then you will probably want something gecko based and vice versa.

Seen that wikipedia article before, I posted this because I just wanted to know what peoples experiences with them have been, since you can not get that kind of knowledge from a wikipedia article

Tor isn't a browser, it's a network.

Sure but it's just a firefox fork, the only tor thing about it is it's preconfigured to use the tor network.

Comodo IceDragon is a slimmed down Firefiox fork with it's own DNS and enhanced security.

I use ghostery on my browser and it is quite good and I find the Ultimate test for adblock is to go to msn.com or yahoo and see if the ads still load and they don't with ghostery.
