Cannot connect to LAN worlds on minecraft

MoJoMax

I cannot connect to local lan world on my laptop

i have this desktop running minecraft 1.12.2

and i opened to lan

but my laptop won't

see the lan world.

i'm connected to the same wifi

as the other computer

added an exclusion

on windows firewall and

malware bytes,

for some reason the default gateway

is not shown in ipconfig

but it does on the desktop computer,

and also the desktop

computer won't see

any computers on the homegroup

but it will on my laptop?

What is the issue?

My laptop is running windows 10

and the desktop windows 7.

Try to ping the IP addresses of the computers to check if they can talk to each other.

Hmmm did you try completely turning off all firewalls? Sry I don't really play minecraft but if you could ping back and forth and firewalls are off thats what solved it for me the times I have played the game.

I tried

using IPconfig

and directly connecting

by the IPV4 address

of the desktop and

the port number

given by minecraft.

When i try to connect on my laptop it

says "logging in" but then i get an error

saying the authentication servers on down for maintenance

tried the other day and today but same message.

so i can neither directly connect.

I can add a server on the desktop

and it pings and everything

but still but lan not working

On my laptop i can enter to any server i like

and i also guess that on the desktop too.

Javaw.exe is whitelisted on firewall

and the launcher. It's soo

frustrating.. it's still

not working. youtube video not

working NOTHING IS WORKING.

Same network,Same wifi band which is 2.4 G,

Same version.

And also there's

also a wifi booster plugged

into the wall but

i know i'm connected?

That booster has never appeared

on my wifi list.

It's a TP-link booster

but i doubt its the reason why

lan is not working

if i can ping via cmd

that's not the issue

Any ideas still???

if you have made exceptions on both computers firewalls?

if you have at least 8gig ram spare on both computers?

opened single player game to lan?

have 2 seperate minecraft accounts (one for each computer)

both are running the same version of minecraft (aka win or java + version number)

both are running stock (or exact same mods)

then i dont know why you cant.....

although i found on windows our locally connected minecraft game would constantly kick out between 30mins to 1.5hrs of play time, didnt have this issue on linux mint 20 (generally 4hr sessions)

current main system: as of 1st Jan 2023

motherboard : Gigabyte B450M DS3H V2

CPU: Ryzen 5 3600

ram : 16Gig Corsair Vengeance 3600mhz

OS :multi-boot

Video Card : RX 550 4 GIG

Monitor: BENQ 21 inch

  • 2 weeks later...

BTW i found a solution!

you just need to have

official minecraft account..

open lan on one

of the computers, then

make sure that the computer that's going

to connect MUST have an official

MC account.  It's optional to have an official account on the computer that has the world open to lan.

"the reason it was not working was that i was using Tlauncher"

just used MCleaks on the official launcher"

and Tlauncher on the pc that opened lan"

For some reason it won't appear in lan, but i just used the ivp4 address and the port number to connect.
