3070 is the sweetspot here.

If you can oc your 6700k for some extra performance out of the 3070.

It's modern day equivalent would be i3 10100 or AMD 3300X so maybe even upgrade CPU before you consider RTX 3000 series.

GTX 1080 what you now have is a good pairing with current CPU. But there are of course other considerations.

if i'm staying with current setup the rtx 2080 would be an upgrade for my 1080?

It would of course be a significant upgrade, but in my opinion not worth the price difference.

Thats just my opinion though.

when AMD announces their new products in about a week, we might see some price drops from nvidia, and also we might start to see new products becoming available.

The 3070 would be a nice performance upgrade, being close to a 2080 ti, but the supposed RTX 3060 would also provide some nice performance, probably being close to a 1080 ti.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

That depends what resolution you're gaming on.

The higher the res, the less your cpu matters (in most games, some are very CPU heavy)

For 1080p there's no reason to go overboard with a 6700K. A (used) GPU on the level of 1080 Ti / 5700XT will drive most games up to 100fps+

I'd go with a 3070 for 1440 and 3080 for 4K if you want a maxed out experience. Though since both these cards are unavailable you might want to grab something as a stopgap measure.

Come to think of it, maybe your 1080 is still in warranty?

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

You want something beefier than integrated graphics? If so, RTX 2080 is very good for 1440p.

But if you forgot you have integrated graphics and can wait couple of weeks with iGPU, then you'd probably get a better deal.

Is this recent? How long have you had your PSU?

When you say it won't turn on, do you mean you press the power button and nothing happens?

Ok, hope it solves the problem, though if it doesn't we can look at some other component being an issue

So it doesn't turn on at all? Not even a little fans?

Or does it run fans for a bit then stop?

That's pretty weird.

A GPU should not prevent the computer from turning on at all.

I would rebuild the computer outside the case at this point, make sure everything is well connected. This will eliminate the chance that a short is preventing the computer from turning on, or an issue with the case's power button.

Turning on the computer by jumping the power header should always work (I believe the only time it doesn't work is if you don't have a CPU in, I might be wrong).

You can check this guide if you don't know how to turn the computer on outside the case.

Hmm. Just as a sanity check I'd try to turn it on without GPU on

But there might after all be something wrong with the GPU electrically that impedes it

Come to think of it, the card might still be in warranty. I'd talk to EVGA and see if they'll replace it or maybe help with the issue since it's the first time I hear about a computer not turning on at all beccause of a certain GPU. I've had a couple of broken ones in my bench but they never did that (they just didn't have video output or didn't POST)
