Stuttering in games

I get lag spikes in minecraft and fortnite. my fps will go from above 60 to below 30 

 

my specs are a 

ryzen 7 2700x

16gb 2933mhz corsair pro rgb ram

rtx 2060 super (brand new)

Do you have V-sync enabled either in-game or globally?

sounds like you're hitting a bottleneck somewhere. What storage are you using?

 

Also it might be software related. you could try reinstalling and looking for any greedy programs in the background.
