Why school, why embarrass yourself? >_<

My school has all the same computers, Dell OptiPlex GX620. It has 2GB DDR2 Ram, 80GB 7200 Sata "Super fast" HDD, Intel Pentium D @ 2.8GHz, and Windows XP. And they decide it's a good idea to have Google Chrome on here... Sorry, just stick to Internet Explorer, (I can't believe I'd ever say that!), but IE runs faster than Chrome on this slow of a PC. Sorry, I just had to rant for a minute.

Our school relies heavily on google services which are much better optimized for chrome.

Most schools don't have the budget to upgrade pc's very often. They just stick with me ones they have until they literally die.

Why is that embarrassing, they work don't they? Why should a school waste taxpayer money just to replace PCs that still do what they are supposed to do.

What's embarrassing is the fact that the school's "Tech" guys thought it would be a good idea to put Chrome on an out-dated computer. They need new guys...

True. I still don't think that is that horrible. What I think is horrible is when schools buy a ton of clunky and stupid software to "enhance" learning. When all they really do is hog RAM and waste electricity(my mini rant).

what do u want ? GTX Titans maybe ? 4770k's in your library's pc's ? Give me an old dell with a P4 HT that runs XP & Office 2003 & that's sufficient to freakin graduate

What i think the most horrible thing here is. Moving from a network with IE on it that works perfectly fine to something else that wont work as good. Dont fix what isint broken.

My school computers have core i5 4570s in them, they run off of the integrated graphics but are still fairly fast, the teacher computers have Radeon 6570s in them because they run dual monitors and a smartboard

IDE>Sata adapters + cheap 64GB SSD's for OS, those machines would fly.

My school has the same setup but they decided to install Windows 7 Enterprise on all of them and now they are slow as crap. And we use Chrome and Office 2013 Professional Plus
