Can I shock myself when touching a exposed laptop motherboard while it’s running? Just doing some experiments with a couple of laptop

Touching the right spots, yes. Touching just the general PCB, not likely.

Would those spots being touched seriously hurt me or just a little zap

Mostly a little zap. But that little zap will more than likely kill the motherboard.

yes and you can also short out different parts of the laptop motherboard.

Yes. Static electricity works with pretty much anything.

As long as you have an LED display, the highest voltage you'll see in a laptop is the charger, at ~ 20 V. Put a 9V battery on your tounge and double it.

LCD screens do have higher voltage backlight drivers sometimes, so be careful with those.

If you touch anything really. Touch any random part in a certain way and boom there goes the laptop. The zap you feel can be as light as a small static shock to as painful as your hand cramping and going numb for a bit (with potential for some lightly burned skin).
