Should I keep my RX 5700XT for another year or two?

I currently have a RX 5700XT that I use to play on a 1080p Freesync 75hz monitor.

Should I keep it for another year or two as soon as the prices for the RTX 3070 and AMD RDNA2 cards go down?

My current card plays my games right now at 60+ FPS.

It just that others have been telling me that the games a couple of years from now will require Raytracing and the 5700XT will not run those games that require it.

bull crap

i doubt dev would cut out the majority of people that dont have RT capability like that

makes no economic sense

 

RT will be an opt in feature for quite a while

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

Wow NVIDIA is doing a much better job selling consumers ray tracing then I thought. Ray Tracing is just an in game option like V-sync on or V-sync off. Also AMD showed off software based versions of ray tracing that aren't as good but still don't require any addition hardware.

Just keeping this here as a For 1080p 75Hz you shouldn’t upgrade until you either get a higher resolution display or you are noticeably unable to keep up with game requirements. You will be fine for quite some time, I gamed on a GTX 970 at 1080p until last year.

I also have a 5700XT, play on a 3440x1440p 144Hz monitor. I plan to keep this set up for at least a couple more years.
