I recently switched back to Ubuntu after trying Windows for a few months, mainly because Google Drive Stream is not available on Linux. Opened a blender project and noticed how fast the scene was rendering compared to the render time on Windows. Just thought I'd share the blender benchmarks (CPU Only). It's quite astonishing. I'm just a developer/animator with no real idea about how Windows interacts with hardware.

Well, this has been a thing since the first Threadripper. Linux uses way different CPU scheduling and does a better job with it when it comes to performance.

Windows actually improved a lot, the difference used to be a lot bigger.

What do you mean by Google Drive Stream? Like Mounting a Google Drive?

Yes. But for G-suite (https://support.google.com/a/answer/7491144?hl=en). For whatever reason Google doesn't have a first-party solution for linux. The third-party solutions are terribly slow at syncing/reading/writing. I've switched to dropbox since switching back to Ubuntu.
