My 144hz keeps on reverting back to 60hz

PointFive

So I'm running an external monitor for my laptop. My laptop is an HP omen 15 2018 model with 144hz display, and my second monitor is an ASUS Tuf VG249q.

I don't know why after i set it to 144hz, it keeps on reverting back to 60hz. Either when I click the taskbar or just click or sometimes it will randomly go back to 144hz.

How do I fix this, and make it stick to 144hz?

Thanks in advance!

Does it revert back to 60hz only when you open certain games, or is it just at random times where you aren't doing anything that should cause it?
