USB C cable quality matters?

Sorry, but I order most of my cables, adapters, and such, from AliExpress. Broke student, what can I say?!

 

Was wondering: does USB C cables needs to have be of high quality? or is it just like, let's say, HDMI cables, where as long as it works it works?

 

Need a new USB C for my Pixel 1 XL phone 😕
