Can RAIDs be cross platform?

Shutset

I'm looking to build my own RAID array so I wanna know some things before I give it a shot.

I know about different RAID types like RAID 0, 1, 5 and 6.

I know that there is software and hardware RAID and I prefer the latter.

I am also looking to make a Windows/Linux dual-boot system so I want to know if RAIDs are cross-platform.

If I create a RAID array in either, could I still access it in the other?

You can use a dual-boot system on top of the hardware RAID. Otherwise, you can make a software RAID and spin up a VM with another OS on top of it. Here is also some good reading on different RAID levels pros and cons I personally found useful so sharing that just in case: https://www.starwindsoftware.com/blog/back-to-basics-raid-types
