Re-Install Windows

Hi all

 

I'm re-installing my OS into 64-bit system. If my hard drive is partitioned into C and D drive respectively, and C drive is the primary boot drive, will my files in D drive be deleted if I install the OS on C drive? Thanks

No, you can set it up to not delete the entire drive.

Click the button on the bottom right of their post that says "quote." Multiquote is for more than one quotes in your post.

1 more thing when installing make sure you do a custom install in order to get the chioces

No you wont lose your data unless you choose to wipe your drive during install

If it's not windows XP, you can easily select partition during windows installation

Simply select C: drive (note down partition size to make sure you select correct one), press format, and while it's selected press next. DO NOT do that to your other partitions.

Also, future advice, Backup your browser bookmarks etc, download a ninite installer with core software before formatting, do same with any drivers for GPU/Motherboard etc.

Lastly, if you do use My Documents for some important data for some reason (game saves?), move it over in windows to your D: drive, and simply update it with every re-install, allowing you to "stack" my documents from a looong time.
