XMP??? What Am I Missing?

I have this motherboard: https://www.gigabyte.com/us/Motherboard/Z370P-D3-rev-10 I don't see ANYTHING that says XMP or Profile 1, nothing. Things are grey'd out. My RAM is running at 2133 and I need to set it to 2666. What am I missing? I don't see where to change it???

You will find XMP under Advanced CPU Core Settings, which is here on your second picture:

XMP would be on disabled by default and you can set it to Profile1/Profile2 (depending on what works).

According to the manual it's the next item after the one you show on the last page.

Then there's one in Advanced memory settings" as well.

Still don't see it?

What CPU are you using?

EDIT: and RAM set for that matter?

I3-8100. I believe I remember changing it before. The last 2 images show ALL of the options.

EDIT: Now looking at the CPU I think it can only do 2400... I did downgrade from an I5 so that's why I remember changing it..

But even 2400 is faster then 2133, I don't see XMP anywhere.

XMP (Extreme Memory Profile) should be the fifth setting, counting from the bottom in the Advanced CPU settings window.

The motherboard manual does mention a compatible CPU+RAM set should be installed for it to appear at all though.

Is your memory rated for a higher speed than 2133Mhz? Is it installed in memory slots 2&4? Have you tried updating the BIOS?

The BIOS is up to date. I posted the memory link up a post, 2666 is it's max.

I have them in 1 & 3. EVen Speccy says its Duel instead of Single channel now.

Then that board probably doesn't want to let you use XMP with an i3.

You might be able to make RAM run at 2400 but by setting everything manually.

I guess I need to sell this I3 8100 then. I swore I did it long ago when I had an I5... so this motherboard not letting me with an I3 ... thats a thing?

Whats the best and cheapest I5 to buy nowadays? The deal.

Seems it's standard actually.

Intel has an XMP "QVL" Excel sheet here https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/gaming/extreme-memory-profile-xmp.html

There is no i3 in there, so guess XMP is not a thing on i3s.

Why the downgrade anyway?

Also I really doubt you'd see any difference between 2133 and 2400 with such a part anyway.

I built it for my mom and she had limited cash. There was some issue I forget and I had to return for the cash which meant it went to the I3. What I5 is the best deal?

I mean if it's for web browsing / office there's no reason to worry about RAM frequency in the slightest...
