neither should be noticeable, especially at 1440p lol

assuming you didnt want an rgb build:

a few caveats here. first off, if you want more than 1 m.2 drive then this board goes from best b550 to shit b550 cause it drops the gpu to x8 pcie instead of x16. you stick with 1 m.2 and this becomes a 700 euro mobo with the vrms and overclocking capabilities of the x570 xtreme. super kickass as long as you stick to 1 m.2 or dont care about x8 vs x16 lanes (not meaningful with current hardware but likely to be a difference in the next gen or two).

second, you will have to overclock the memory. 4000mhz wont work properly with zen 2 so youll need to let it boot into jedec and then go from there. with the xt you can likely get a high fclk and end up with 3733mhz or 3800mhz which is nice, and these dimms are binned such that you can at least hit 3800c14 which is really fuckin fast lol

that being said, id personally get a cheaper zen 2 and slot in a zen 3 when they hit the markets as they should at least support faster memory and thus be pretty awesome all around. maybe get a 3700x for now, which would be more than adequate, and get whatever kickass zen 3 comes out and take a few euros' loss on the 3700x for resale.

thats about it, pretty solid setup afaik. titanium super flower unit cause efficiency, if you wanna spring for a seasonic that works too. anything in the A tier on the psu tier list would be great, 750-850w is plenty

Budget (including currency): 2000-4000€

Country: Germany

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mostly Destiny 2 and RoR2 + whatever I get my hands and friends on ^^

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):  144fps 2/4k (not sure what i am going tbh) with no fps drops below the 144 mark - existing parts none cause my GF gets my old Rig. Maybe I get the 1TB 970 out of my old rig - not sure yet.

Thinking of 3090+10900k but maybe some Ryzen cause of PCIE 4.0 (then im gonna get a 4.0 m.2 aswell)

64 or better performing 32 gigs of Ram ( dunno what effects fps better )

I have no Idea what board to choose tho thought of a ASUS ROG STRIX Z490-E GAMING but thats not even closes to be a final choice.

Case wise I had my eyes on a Fractal Design Define R6 Blackout ( since my original Plan was a blackout build no need for fancy RGB stuff )

If anyone has nice Monitors (2/4 k - 144hz +G/Free sync) that would be cool to.

the 3090 is gonna be powerful but 144hz 4k without dropping frames is probably out of the question still, not that youd notice with gsync. might be worth waiting to see what zen 3 offers, could be some very good cpus on the way and youd get pcie 4.0. the asus z490s dont support pcie 4.0 that may come with next gen intel but theyre decent boards otherwise. 4x16gb of very expensive b die is technically the best option for framerates but 32 gb of b die would be 99% of the performance for less than half the cost of that sorta thing. for monitors, the lg nano ips variants and similar models from other manufacturers have been very highly regarded and are extremely popular for 144hz 1440p monitors. samsung might have the kinks worked out on their odyssey panels this time around but youd probably wanna wait and see how reviews turn out for this next batch.

The reasoning doesn't fly.  If you want to just buy a 3090 (production card) for gaming... with 64GB of RAM?

Are you doing production work at all, since that seems to be what you're wanting to spec out.

Or are you just asking because you really don't understand what is needed for a good gaming machine?

Waiting longer wont be a good option for me since I want that Rig running at the 10.11.2020 ( Destiny 2 Beyond Light release date ) - shuold have stated that in my Post, my bad.

So for Monitor more like 2k/144 hz - im totally fine with that. @Fasauceome why just 2 Sticks instead of 4 Sticks of RAM tho? And do you have an Idea how that AMD based build would compare to an Intel based one?

I honestly don't think there's any point in paying more than double the price of the 3080 for the 3090 if you're just gaming. It's way beyond the point of diminishing returns by the looks of things, but we'll get a clearer idea of how much faster it actually is versus the 3080 when reviews are released.

If you want to go with AMD, wait for Zen 3. Going with Zen 2 for just a system strictly targeted for gaming doesn't make much sense, regardless of supporting PCIe 4.0 now.

Speaking of PCIe 4.0, a Gen4 SSD makes sense to use as a scratch disk for example if you're video editing. Otherwise, you won't notice a difference compared to a good 3.0 SSD.

@Dedayog Im pretty sure D2 on max settings wont run very smoothly on a 1050ti since it wont run 144fps / 1080p on my 1080 wich shuold be more powerful then a 1050ti ( if i remember correctly :P )

Also I dont want to have to change anything in the next ~2-3 GPU Generations.

I guess for the Decision of 3080vs3090 we gonna wait for Benchmarks - got it. What about the rest of the System tho ? I guess the rest wont change much if I throw a 3080 or a 3090 in it. Thing is I want to order the parts in October so im defenitly ready on the 10.11. - guess Zen 3 wont be released then. So its Zen2 Vs Intel. + What board and what RAM?

id go for zen 2 for 1440p, the advantages that intel has barely show themselves at high resolutions. pcie 4 vs 3 could be a bigger difference there and age better. no need for an x570 for games, just get any mid-high end b550 that you like the looks of and toss in an sx8200 pro or similar. ram, get 2x16gb or 4x8gb at 3600mhz cl16 and thatd be solid. b die if you like overclocking.

I wouldnt mind using older stuff (2600k + 1070... way overdue for an upgrade if I bothered), but for 2000-4000€? It's also in Germany, not some poor country that you can only buy a 3600 and 2060 with this big budget.

sounds like a great plan! the vrms handle my buddy's 3950x in his hotbox shitbrick of a case so it should be more than sufficient for anything you can slot in there, tbh the 3700x is more than enough for 1440p but its nice getting faster goodies so i get that, kinda what im planning for my ongoing build as well :P
