Task Manager shows 30% Ram usage when nothing open

The last few days I have noticed that my ram at idle with next to nothing open is at 30% or around that. But when I add up individually all the processes it comes nowhere near to the near 5Gb 30% would be. What could be causing this?Any suggestions? image.thumb.png.9bf8c540b2c64eeb249c4b87e36be6c6.png

Check Performance > Open Resource Monitor > Memory to see where your memory is being allocated.

Memory allocation probably.

 

Or its just the OS. Windows is hungry for that good ole RAM.

Winblows takes up around 2gb (or more if it feels like it can)

 

While the OS is good at freeing up RAM when needed, its a hungry OS

why are you stressed over 30% usage? mine is always at 90% in windows and 70% in every other os

 want to install chrome os? here's how.
