Upgrading CPU, Motherboard, PSU? even ram? need some advice

inbellator

Budget (including currency): 400-450 quid

Country: United Kingdom

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Streaming, Gaming

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Currently have 1080p 144hz monitor, 4K 60 hz monitor

I would mainly play at 1080p most games, and probably try some story driven games at 4k

Current Specs

I5 6500

RX 580 8B - Planning to get the 3070 rtx in the future

550W Corsair VS series 80+

Ballistix Sport LT 8GB DDR4 2400 MT/s

Corsair 270R case ATX/MICRO ATX

Sandisk SS 120GB

WD Blue 1TB

What I have been looking at so far...

AMD Ryzen 5 3600 or 3600x

be quiet! Straight Power 11 650W, fully modular, 80 PLUS Gold

MSI B550-A PRO Motherboard ATX

I have been told elsewhere that i should possibly look at upgrading RAM to 3200, and that B550 motherboard is a go to

Iv'e seen some really good deals for B450 motherboards almost 100 quid cheaper than what i have at the moment

just need some advice and im sorta stuck making a decision, once i've got all these parts and a RTX 3070 i really wouldn't

be adding or upgrading for as long as possible, possibly a SSD at some point

you could go with something like this

of course you could stick with the B550-A pro but this board should handle the 3600 just fine.

you might also want to consider waiting for zen 3.

This looks noice, do you think its worth getting the faster RAM speed? also i was considering that but isnt there no indication as to when the zen 3 will be revealed and that?

ryzen chips do like ram speed to an extent, considering you have a 2400 MHz kit, this would be a pretty good upgrade.

no exact date on when it would be released yet but they are rumored to be released near the end of this year.
