I want to upgrade to 2nd gen RTX so I was wondering if it was possible to upgrade the gpu?

Only if the current GPU is in MXM form-factor and even then not necessarily. If the current GPU isn't MXM, then no.

So could I get like a 2070 then?

Before you ask, check if the card is an MXM-card or not. If it's not, then even thinking about upgrading it is pointless, since it's not possible.

even if you could upgrade, i wouldnt pair that CPU with anything much higher than the 1070

might see increase in some games, but most of them will be CPU limited anyways.

just not worth the frankensteining that would need to make it work

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

Like on most laptops the GPU is soldered to the mobo, no change possible.
