Windows 8.1 Reinstall question

So, since my Windows install (which is not even a week old) is officially screwed, I need to reinstall. But, I have Hill Climb Racing installed, and I don't want to lose my progress. Is there a way I can back it up, and then put it back on or what? And I know I'll lose it since I did last time I did a Windows 8 reinstall.

The save game is probably locate somewhere on your user profile... Saving that file (or files) and copying that again after reinstalling windows should do the trick...

 

Not 100 % guaranteed.

The game files are in the My Documents folder. Just copy them reinstall and put them back in. It's a piece of cake, I have done it a 1000 times.

No problem! BTW, for some of the steam games, the safe game files are in AppData folder indeed. :)
