Hey all

I'm currently going through the issue of trying to remove trapped air in my loop. I tried tipping my case and stuff back and forth to try and release the trapped air.

Is there anything else I can do or should I keep tipping back and forth to try my best to get it out.

Thanks

Laboon

What kind of bubble are you talking about? Big bubbles will usually go away pretty easily by just cycling the pump, jiggling the tubing and tilting the case. The smaller bubbles stick around longer, but they don't really affect performance, so you don't have to worry about them. They will slowly get flushed out in a few days.

Put the absolute tiniest fraction of a drop of dish soap into your loop.

I mean not even a drip, a very small drizzle. It should help dislodge bubbles, in addition to flicking the tubing and shaking the case violently.

Not sure I would shake any case violently.

These bubbles naturally go away after a few days. Just let them go away on their own unless you can't wait to take pictures or something.

It has been about 2 months since I put my loop together. On my variable speed pump, on setting 4 and 5 I hear (what I think is) the little air bubbles rattling around in the pump but from 3 and lower, it goes silent. If I keep it on setting 3 then my system starts getting quite warm (r9 290 and 8350) and I'd rather keep it cooler with a faster setting.

Like I said, add a tiny dab of dish soap or concentrated water wetter or something.

Ive never actually heard of this. How does it help?

Science I never bothered to look in to and cannot elaborate on, it's literally lubricant for an aquatic system. Of course you're welcome to look it up yourself.

I cannot stress enough to use a tiny amount of dish soap or else it will have the opposite effect and add more suds.

Throw your case out the window.

Well, you won't have to worry about air bubbles if you do this... :)

not too sure about that, frequently those detergents are quite biologically active.

it might work the same but I've never heard of someone trying that.

screw it, I am putting this in my loop instead of water watered down a fair bit to increase viscosity.

What you should do is turn off the power to the pump and then tip it and then while it is tipped after making sure no water can spill out from your loop, turn the pump on and see if the air moves and if it does do it a few times to remove more air.
