Hi guys,

I just have a rather simple question for all of you of which I will put into a poll.

The question is as follows:

• How do you cool your CPU?

You may choose to comment but it's not necessary.

Cheers,

Geekazoid

Good on ya. I hope it all goes well and you don't end up water submerging your rig. :P

I found the line method worked best for thermal paste on my old FX CPU. The pre-installed thermal paste caked up in about a month from the heat output of FX.

Why water cooling is water cooling...

As for me I am running a locked overclocked CPU on stock cooling woo! And according to every temp monitoring software it also runs at 105 degrees.

My friend, @ScottS1 's A10-6800K's GPU runs at -8°C according to every temp monitoring software.

Meanwhile the CPU cores run at about 60°C.

Theres not much difference between air & watercooling. The difference comes down to the use of a pump to circulate the liquid.

Anyways I prefer air anytime over water, just attach the fan to a chassis fan and enable autofanstop in fan xpert 2 so the fan turns off at idle. Screw pumps really..

I have a H110 - definitely the best cooler I have ever bought. There are some problems with clearance and mounting though. The H105 is also a great option for a thicker 2x120mm AIO.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 - 3900x @ 4.4GHz with a Custom Loop | MBO: ASUS Crosshair VI Extreme | RAM: 4x4GB Apacer 2666MHz overclocked to 3933MHz with OCZ Reaper HPC Heatsinks | GPU: PowerColor Red Devil 6900XT | SSDs: Intel 660P 512GB SSD and Intel 660P 1TB SSD | HDD: 2x WD Black 6TB and Seagate Backup Plus 8TB External Drive | PSU: Corsair RM1000i | Case: Cooler Master C700P Black Edition | Build Log: here

According to Linus thicker isn't always better. Just thought I'd mention that.

It depends. If it is a thicker 120mm radiator compared to a slim one, the thicker will perform better if you have the money to afford some decent pressure optimized fans. Anyways, the H110 is a 2x140mm so yeah, it outperforms the thicker H105 (2x120mm) by a couple degrees.

PS: SLim rads will also benefit good quality pressure optimized fans.
