Wasn't aware, interesting.

What phone are you using? I have Samsung Music on my Note9 so that could be an option if you have a Samsung Phone.

Personally I use Pandora but that is probably not what you are looking for.

Since Google Play Music will be going away, I'm looking for a good music player. I did some research and came with Musicolet. But I'm still confused. Can you guys suggest some?

For playing music from files on your phone, Foobar2000 would be a good bet.

LTT's Resident Porsche fanboy and nutjob Audiophile.

Main speaker setup is now;

Mini DSP SHD Studio -> 2x Mola Mola Tambaqui DAC's (fed by AES/EBU, one feeds the left sub and main, the other feeds the right side) -> 2x Neumann KH420 + 2x Neumann KH870

(Having a totally seperate DAC for each channel is game changing for sound quality)

Using samsung too. Just looking for alternatives. You have to download samsung music from galaxy store so want to avoid it.

I use Blackplayer. I've only looked at "top 10 lists" and Blackplayer was the one I liked. Primarily, it's fairly customizeable and the now playing tab has a large clear view of the album art. I spent lots of time getting good album art, and I hate that a bunch of things make it like a 1/10th the size.

The "pro" version is probably better, for me simply because you can rearrange tabs and the starting page, but it's not enough for me to bother.

Thanks for reading all this by the way!

By the way, my desktop is a docked laptop. Get over it, No seriously, I have an exterrnal monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, ethernet and cooling fans all connected. Using it feels no different to a desktop, it works for several hours if the power goes out, and disconnecting just a few cables gives me something I can take on the go. There's enough power for all games I play and it even copes with basic (and some not-so-basic) video editing. Give it a go - you might just love it.

Its ending in September for New Zealand and South Africa and ending in October for everywhere else, but you have until December to export anything you have in Google Music. https://takeout.google.com/

You can however transfer it to YouTube Music. https://blog.youtube/news-and-events/youtube-music-transfer-google-play-music-library

Musicolet is a good local audio player, otherwise YouTube Music will be the Google Play Music replacement.
