Windows 95 25th Anniversary

I wrote a poem for the windows 95 25th anniversary, here it is:

Windows oh windows 95, 25 years, my oh my
We've been through a lot, all the things you've taught
25 years, have just gone by
You brought the internet into our homes, our hearts
You've been here, while playing Duke 3D
The taskbar came, and won't go by
Windows Xp, the nostalgia's there, but you were the one, who got us there
When duty calls, you're the centre of the office
But now, you're outdated, and will never be back there
How many floppy's, not 1, not 2, it was 13, no more, no less
Although MS Bob failed, you didn't, you stuck beside us, until 1998
You won't be neglected, you won't be forgotten
Yet 25 years have passed, but you'll still be there
You were a change to the old, and sparked some new
You may be old, but you're still loved by few
You gave us MS solitaire, and passed many hours
You taught the kids, that give us computers
Windows oh windows 95, 25 years, my oh my

Oh the irony!
A (Mr.) Mac singing the praises of Windows.... 🥴

"If you ever need anything please don't hesitate to ask someone else first"..... Nirvana
"Whadda ya mean I ain't kind? Just not your kind"..... Megadeth
Speaking of things being "All Inclusive", Hell itself is too.

I just got rid of a Dell Optiplex that had Windows 2000 on it, the proprietary motherboard finally let go. It had a Pentium III 1.2ghz I believe, getting very outdatted. The OS was very stable right until the end though.

My Current Setup:

AMD Ryzen 5900X

Kingston HyperX Fury 3200mhz 2x16GB

MSI B450 Gaming Plus

Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo

EVGA RTX 3060 Ti XC

Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB

WD 5400RPM 2TB

EVGA G3 750W

Corsair Carbide 300R

Arctic Fans 140mm x4 120mm x 1

Oh bummer.

Totally dated, but got your moneys worth!

I bought it cheap at a local Dell refurbisher back in 2007. It was my office computer for a few years until it was retired and used at home to play older games. In the flurry of updates now with modern versions of Windows, I do miss the days of not having an update waiting to be installed constantly. Such a simpler time, haha.

Yeah, I agree. Super simple computing then, complex now and not going to get less complex lol.
