Hello, not that long ago I got a prebuilt PC that would cost 1K for the price of $300. I've been wondering if I could upgrade almost every piece of the PC and still get a deal, think of it as an experiment.

I've changed out the GTX 1050 2GB to a much better GTX 1650 SUPER & the ancient 350W PSU to a Corsair Grey Unit 450W.

I've been planning to add a 500GB Samsung SSD to add onto the 1TB HHD.

Though when I look inside of my PC, there seems to be no place where the SSD could go on top of the HHD, though I'm still researching if I'm an idiot or not.

If any of you 4Chan/Reddit users could research the PC and tell me if the SSD is compatible and where it would go in my PC, much would be appreciated.

All you really need is an available SATA power connector on your PSU and a SATA data port on your motherboard.

You shouldn't worry about mounting. Either throw the SSD in there, or mount it with double sided tape. Or even drill a couple of holes for it.

Compatibility shouldn't really be an issue. What you need to determine is if you have an extra SATA from your power supply to actually power the SSD, and you'll likely need to get a cable to plug the SSD into your motherboard, provided it has a spare slot for it to plug in. Aside from that, if your case doesn't have any specific place to put an SSD, you can just find an open spot either on the bottom or the side of the case and attach the SSD there with some sort of double-sided adhesive.

I mostly speak from my own past experience from similar problems. My solution may not work for you, but I'll always try my best to help as much as I can. If you want me to see your reply, make sure to quote my comment or mention me @WaggishOhio383, and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

Yes, the hard drive provides power to the SSD... 😉

SSD (Planning To Add):

assuming the psu has a sata power cable and the board has a sata data connector and you got a sata data cable, it'l work.

unlike HDD's there's no moving part in an ssd, you could mount it with a bit of modding, duct tape it, throw it in there, doesn't really matter.

That's my PC, PCPartPicker says that there's no issues (Ignore the CPU), though PCPartPicker has lied to me a couple of times, could you confirm that the SSD would work with all of this?

Just plug it in and sit it in the case somewhere, double sided tape if u feel the need to keep it somewhat secure.

2.5" SSDs are very light weight and dont have moving parts so no need to mount in a specific location.
