I recently saw the video logan from teksyndicate did about vpns and how using one doubled his connection speed, so I just signed up for a free trial of hotspotshield and tried it out. there you go.

 

left is without, right is with hss

WTF is going on?

It only increased your upload speed. I'm guessing Hotspot shield increases the rate that your data can be sent to the target server. Just a guess though, however you won;t see anything you try to download taking less time since you download speed remained the same.

hmmm i also have 12 down 1 up, i think ill give vpn's a try later.

except someone in this forum confirms that as a bug.
