I'm in the process of building a computer, and I'm also going to be needing a new chair. Wondering what your opinions are on comfortable gaming chairs, budget is $400 or less im 150lbs and 6'1 and i tend to slouch after sitting awhile would like something that will change that habit

First off, thank you for actually putting some budget into your chair. So many people spend $2000 on their PC then end up with a $75 "gaming chair". This is something I firmly believe in setting aside a good chunk of budget to, especially if you are like me and spend 8+ hours a day working in your office.

Any chair you buy from staples or Ikea or any cheaper chair online retailer if going to be absolutely garbage. Your back and butt will get sore after 1-3 hours. Secondly, take "gaming" out of your thought process when looking for a good chair. A chair is a chair. Some gamer aesthetics and a high-back rest aren't going to help you be a better gamer.

Craigslist or FB Marketplace are full of businesses that are selling their old assets. Look for chairs from companies like Herman Miller, Steelcase, Humanscale. These chairs will cost about $1000 retail but you can pick them up for $200-300 second hand. Same price as what you would pay for a mid range shitty chair with gaming flairs to it.

The ones from these companies are made to be sat in for 8+ hours a day. They are made by professionals and that's all they do. Make chairs that are comfortable for your body. It's amazing the difference you can feel.

Like said above second hand cheap could be neat I guess. Also I find Vertagear Triigger and NeueChair nice alternatives to like Herman Miller one.

You need to get a Herman Miller Aeron. Not only is it best most comfortable chair, but it's also cheaper than those $400 chairs despite being more expensive because it won't wear down, break and need to be replaced several times.
