R3 3200G vs R5 2600 + Waiting a while

Thanks for the suggestions! I guess I'll be getting the R5 then.

 

Regarding the parts I already have, they were all tested on my friend's "makeshift test bench".

Budget (including currency): $400

Country: Philippines

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Sony Vegas Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, COD WZ, LoL, Dota 2, Valorant, CSGO, Apex Legends, Genshin Impact, Black Desert Online.

Other details: I already have Case, RAM, PSU, SSD and MoBo ready.

 

I need your second opinion regarding my PC upgrade. I have been living my gaming life with an iGPU/APU setup (A10 7860k) for about 4 years now and I'm thinking of building a new setup. The problem is I'm on a tight budget. My options for the processor (the last part I need) are Ryzen 3 3200G and Ryzen 5 2600.

 

If I build a R5 setup, I won't be able to use it right away since I'll need to save up some cash to buy a dedicated GPU (2-3 Months). Is it worth the wait or should I settle with another iGPU/APU setup and grab a 3200G?

 

Your inputs would be very much appreciated.

Motherboard tier list. Tier A for overclocking 5950x. Tier B for overclocking 5900x, Tier C for overclocking 5800X. Tier D for overclocking 5600X. Tier F for 4/6 core Cpus at stock. Tier E avoid.

(Also case airflow matter or if you are using Downcraft air cooler)

Gpu tier list. Rtx 3000 and RX 6000 not included since not so many reviews. Tier S for Water cooling. Tier A and B for overcloking. Tier C stock and Tier D avoid.

( You can overclock Tier C just fine, but it can get very loud, that is why it is not recommended for overclocking, same with tier D)

For those games you'll probably want a dedicated GPU. Save up the extra months, but don't buy things part by part. Buy everything all at once.

why shouldnt he? 
If he knows what he wants and only takes a couple month to get enough money its totally fine to buy it part by part.

When i build my PC last year, i started with the GPU in february, cause it was on sale (Gainward GTX1070 for 180€) and started buying the parts whenever they were in sale up until the ryzen 3000s came out, thats when i went for the last parts.
Which made me save couple of hundred bucks. I also only spend 115€ for a 1 TB Samsung 970 Plus, which was around twice that much at that time.

Maybe you have a DOA part. Now you can't get it returned.

 

The part only has a 1 year warranty and you bought it a year ago? Same issue.

 

If you're upgrading, it's fine because you can test it, but other than that it's a bad idea.

If your area has easy warranty, it's OK.

 

But if you're somewhere like most of Asia or North America, it's hard, you have to pay a ton in shipping fees to the manufacturer warehouse, etc.

do you NEED to get the upgrades now?

If your current system is annoying you and you're getting a bad experience, then go with the best upgrade you can get now, and upgrade the rest later.

if not then i'd suggest you wait

Well, i live in germany. Shipping is free most of the time, especially at a certain price spot and warranty is no issue here. If i buy a part now and start testing it in like half a year and see that its actually doa, there usually is no problem at getting a refund.
