Hey

I need some laptop suggestions, my budget is around 1100$

I need a device which I can occasionally game on but I'll be joining a college soon so I would like it to be well built and reliable for general coding and stuff

Thank You

The A17 manages to stay decent even with the cpu and gpu running power viruses https://www.notebookcheck.net/Asus-TUF-A17-FA706IU-Ryzen-7-Laptop-Review-Core-i9-Performance-for-1100-USD.466299.0.html

If running power virus loads on the cpu and gpu the A15 gets quite hot https://www.notebookcheck.net/Asus-TUF-A15-with-AMD-Renoir-and-Nvidia-Graphics-in-Review.469570.0.html

with reasonable loads temps don't get that high though. Well, hope you find something good for you.

It's a solid machine, good reviews, completely slipped my mind (was recently shopping 15"+ only 😅)

Occasional means I don't grind games, I am not crazy about em, I play them once every few weeks

Which thinkpad?

Probably the newest T-series or X1/X1 Carbon you can find for your budget (or a slightly older one with better specs). You can probably find something from 2017 or 2018, so a T470 or maybe T480, or X1 Carbon gen 5.

If you want a smaller laptop, get an X-series.

(this is all assuming the few games you will play will run on an igpu)

Because I will take it to my college, I don't wanna have a hassle of setting up a pc in my dorm
