PC just wont boot into Windows

So I’ve had an old PC running Windows 7 (Pro/Ultimate) 32 bit I think. One day I checked the system’s specs and it turns out it was an x86 based system. Armed with this knowledge and a drive to get the most out of this cpu I put in a Windows 7 installation disc and “upgraded” to WINDOWS 7 ULTIMATE x86 and thus began my woes.

Since then I’ve tried;

  • Reinstalling Windows 7 Pro x64
  • Reinstalling Windows 7 Pro x86
  • Switching the CMOS battery
  • Formatting the harddisk drive and creating two new fresh partitions (One for Windows, the other for Linux)
  • Reinstalling Windows on the larger partition
  • Switching display settings from PCI to AGP (The motherboard has AGP gpu I think) in BIOS

None if these have worked. After the installation is done the PC restarts, it tries to load into Windows, gets to the Windows 7 “Welcome” splash screen, logs off, Shuts down and then when it just boots up again it goes past the “Packard Bell” screen and then stays at black and never boots into Windows. Please help.

Why not try Windows 10?

With my specs even getting  Windows 7 to run OK is a miracle.

Really? Give me one example when ANY detailed info about spec will help you solve this problem. Like "oh, you have WD HDD and Kingston RAM, so now I know what to do".

OP has working system with proper drivers and decided to install the same system for some reason (I read few times his post and still don't get it). And because "better is worse than good enough", now he has computer with no system.

@betatestedurm0m: you may try to use Paragon Adaptive Restore bootable usb and Adjust OS.

I know it might’ve seemed unnecessary but in the version of Windows I was running everything ran but weirdly; Anything with a animation in it would crap out the system & play out as an extremely slow stop motion movie, Moving windows about was a pain as well. I just thought (and maybe ignorantly so) that a 64-bit or x86 based OS would use the CPU better?

I haven’t used the system since then. I don’t have a USB but I’ll look into Paragon.
