Inspired by one of the pinned threads in this subforum, I finished my CPU keychain. The victim is an old AMD Athlon 64 x2. I started by bending away pins, which is really, really tedious. So I left it at that for quite some time. Having read the already mentioned thread I wanted to continue the project and started bending of pins again. Surprisingly I realised that this sucks. The new idea was to bend all pins flat and file them off. And that was the perfect solution. Just drilled a hole into it and hooked it up to a chain. And that's the result:

Well shoot I wish I had thought about filing off the pins when I made my keychain. This was some six years ago now, but I think I just stuck on a podcast and went to town bending pins with a razor blade for two hours. I know I used an old Athlon for it, but I don't remember what model it was, and it's too worn down to read anything off the IHS.

Be careful putting it next to anything that you don't want scratched, the fiberglass in the PCB can do some real damage.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I sanded the edges a bit. Maybe that helps.

Could do, I just let it get worn down with time. I don't care that my keys have a few more scratches than they would otherwise, but I wouldn't stick any diamond encrusted Rolls Royce keys next to it.
