High CPU temps

Viper_the1st

I have the build above, and my CPU seems to idle at around 50-60C. The only thing I've changed in bios of XMP for RAM. Any ideas? I tried re-seating the cooler and using new thermal paste. I checked this temp using hwinfo as well as in the bios and in ryzen master. Any ideas?

Ehhh, 50 is a little high for idle, 60 certainly is. Are you sure the system is at idle? Like <10% CPU load? Maybe the cooler isn't on tight enough or the fans aren't spinning fast enough?

Are you sure that idle really is idle, as in you don't have some random background task loading the CPU?

Are you running the latest BIOS?

What temperatures do you get at full load, and what Vcore?

Ambient temps?

What are load temps?

havent done any proper stress tests, but I usually see 80 using the rog cpu-z stress test after like 10 seconds.

Make sure you're running the latest chipset drivers and that you're using the Balanced power plan in Windows.

Run a load on the CPU, and note down the Vcore while at full load (the ones shown in the screenshot you sent are VID, not Vcore, not the same thing).

To be honest I would say your temps are what I would expect with a 240 rad on this CPU.  I would probably upgrade to a 360.  I have a 9900k, which does run slightly hotter than yours.  But even with a 280 rad I hit the 90s with it.  I had to upgrade to a 360 to get the highs below 80.

no worries.I have same CPU same temps...enjoy in your build.

Please do not take offence for my apparent confusion or rudeness,it's not intent me to be like that,it's just my BPD,be nice to me,and I'll return twice better,be rude and usually I get easly pissed of...I'll try to help anyone here,as long as it's something I dealt with, and even if you think I'm rude or not polite, forgive me,  it's not me it's my BPD.

Thanks for understanding.
