So, i found old old old PC in my dads garage and i bought this processor in s/h shop and i thought i'd fix it for my youngest brother but according to HWmonitor, its not stable.

I kinda dont understand the difference between package and cores. What HWmonitor shows is kinda absurd, i think max temperature for A series processors is about 70-ish c

What SpeedFan shows seems alright, at the time i took these screenshots i was surfing the internet and downloading some programs so, 50c should be okay i guess ?

But HW monitor ? it shows 80c when i was only listening to music on youtube. Some friends told me that overheating is generally not caused by CPU malfunction so i figured CPU is working okay. I'm Just not sure, should i be concerned about what HWmonitor shows? :)

Can I realistically call myself a gamer, if I only play ONE, twenty year old game...?

Did you test boot it, before you built in into the case?

WHY NOT...?!

What does hwinfo say? Hwmonitor does not work well.

I am far from an expert in this so please correct me if I’m wrong.

This is what Hwinfo says

Those temps are nothing to be worried about. They seem perfectly normal to me.

CPUs can safely go into the low 90s when under load. At mid to high 90s it will thermal throttle to decrease temps at the sacrifice of performance. If for some reason it gets way to hot (around 100), the computer will turn itself off to save itself.
So if that happens (very rare), I would be worried. Or getting in the 80-90s when not under load is bad. But they can usually be fixed by adding new thermal paste or making sure the cooler is attached properly.

It's AMD's A8 APU CPU. They are known to have sensor issues. Hence one showing what I expect is sub-ambient.
