So the actual value is 1GB and it will increase as I increase my RAM?

there is no actual value. the actual value is that you have 4gb of ram. the allocation between cpu and gpu is done dynamically, depending on utilisations, with the cpu having priority. if your cpu only needs 2gb of ram at one moment in time, the other 2gb are available to the gpu, if it needs it. if your cpu needs all 4gb of ram, your gpu will get nothing* (*i assume it's not literally nothing, there is a minimum amount reserved for the gpu so you can get an image on your display)

Hello everybody,

So I bought a new laptop and wanted to play some forza on it. I knew I had to upgrade the RAM. But a quick reassurance won't hurt, right. So I opened up Task Manager to find out my GPU amount and it showed 1.9(lowest required).

So I opened Microsoft store to buy it ahead and saw this

So what is my actual GPU amount? Is GPU and video memory not the same?

Your using an iGPU. Meaning its a GPU on the CPU and i will use your system memory.

If you upgrade your memory the iGPU will also have acces to more memory.

Tho i would not recommend running anything on that HD 520. Its slow and has a few driver issues with games. :(

Forza Horizon 4 Minimum Requirements

  • CPU: Intel Core i3-4170 @ 3.7Ghz / Intel Core i5 750 @ 2.67Ghz <- What CPU do you have ?
  • RAM: 8 GB   <--- You don't have enough RAM
  • HDD: 55 GB of storage space
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650TI / AMD Radeon R7 250x or equivalent with 2GB of memory  <--- You don't have a dedicated GPU
  • OS: 64-bit Windows 10
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Screen Resolution: 720p or better
  • Network: Broadband Internet Connection

If you actually believe the specs:

https://www.wepc.com/benchmark/forza-horizon-4-system-requirements/

Your laptop can not run the game. Don't expect to run new games on Intel Graphics.

On integrated GPUs you will be able to run 5 years old + games.

You should have bought a Desktop PC. Laptops are not for Gaming

I do have a powerful desktop but being a student it isn't always easy to stay near it and use it.😭😭
