I think the total after I purchased all of this was $1300+USD maybe ~$1500USD (I don't even remember when, 2013-2015? was this really only 5-7 years ago?)

I'm planning on upgrading when Ryzen 4000 comes out. I was wondering what you guys might think I could get for my old system? How much is it worth? Complete or parted out?

I like to think of myself as knowledgeable in computer hardware and systems, but I know I hardly hold a candle to you guys on this forum. I am sure I made some poor purchases on my first build and probably spent too much on some things. Hoping for everyone's input so this go around I can feel more confident.

I will be keeping my monitors and I was thinking of keeping my SSD and HDD, but I'm not sure ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If you Part it out it will be worth more that way.  As is It will perform on par with a 3100 1550ti system but have a lot less expand ability so not a lot.  Could double the money parting it out.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

If I were buying the whole shebang including the 3 monitors, $500. Whole thing no monitors, I'd pay $400.

Part it out?

4690K - $100-ish

GTX 970s - $110 each

Z97 board - about $100, getting harder to find those in good shape

...see where this is going?

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.
