Ryzen 9 3900x High Temp?

I recently installed a new R9 3900x and it's running at a high temp.. Idle temp 80c

Anyone have any tips on why the temp is so high? I've installed everything correct and applied just a little more than necessary thermal paste.

SOLVED: I'm a retard. (Forgot to switch the Latch on the default CPU Cooler)

What does that mean, exactly?

Have you checked whether the cooler is secured properly into place and/or remounted it, and what do you mean by "just a little more than necessary" thermal paste?

Also what actual cooler are you using, what case are you using, how's the airflow inside the case and what are your ambient temperatures?

That's definitely too high. What cooler are you using? Are you sure you didn't forget to remove the "REMOVE ME" plastic from the cooler? Not judging... I've done that once 😬

I'm using the Default Cooler from AMD.

You can try and reseat your cooler and reset any overclocking settings you may be using.

I have not been overclocking anything. I will try and reseat the cooler.
