Battery replacement in a 7 should not cause any errors if done properly. I would recommend following an ifixit guide if you do it yourself.

I am far from an expert in this so please correct me if I’m wrong.

A reputable third party battery (like the one that can be ordered from iFixit) should work just fine. Getting first party parts from Apple is exceedingly difficult at best.

The repair itself isn’t difficult and quite straightforward (separating the water resistant adhesive is probably the most difficult bit), but it’s easy to damage stuff if you rush it. Slow and methodical is the way to go. ;)
