casing air flow

Hi all, i have golden filed G9 pc casing.currently i had install 2 air intake fans to front and 1 exhaust fan in rear.how ever this casing can install 2 fans for up and 2 fans for bottom.i'm planning to install 1 fan for up and 1 fan for bottom.now i need to know how i should i place them.

 

here is my plan.upside fan for air intake

bottom side fan for air intake.

 

will this ok or need some advise on this.thank you

Personally I avoid bottom intake fans, it will bring dust into your system.

yes it will.what about top of the casing.how to install it. intake or exhaust..?

I recommend front for intake, top and back for exhaust.

That's the setup that generally helps CPU cooling, promotes airflow through the case.

I found top exhaust tends to pull GPU heat up to the CPU cooler and increases CPU temps. I dropped over 5C when under combined load (GPU stress and mild CPU load) by switching my top front fan to intake and leaving the top rear as exhaust. YMMV based on your GPU (blower vs aftermarket cooler) and general case airflow.

 

I also have two side intakes, one rear exhaust, two front intakes (front intake position is crap and really doesn't draw air in as much as circulates some over the drives) and one bottom intake.

as i know gpu fan always intake the air to cool down inside.so if i install a fan on bottom as intake so gpu cooling will increase?

Most likely a bottom intake fan would help push more fresh air to the GPU. No way to know how much it would help in your specific application without testing.

The two bottom fans would be just for looks. The case looks like it has PSU shroud, so there's no actual air for them to move.

I run a setup most people would ixnay. My bottom is intake, the 2 fronts are intake, the top front is intake, the top rear is exhaust, the rear is exhaust, and I have a 92x35 under my GPU acting as an exhaust in the pci area. I am mainly using 120x38s. I move enough air to easily feed my TY-143. There is no cycling of warm air, because it doesn't really have a chance to warm up. 

 

As for dust, no filters, just a datavac.

Exhaust. There are only few reasons and situations where intake would be better.

Case flow should be front to back, and an exhaust fan in front of the cpu just makes for a warmer cpu if you are using a heatsink. I would experiment with fan placement and see what works best for you, as cookie cutter placements are good for dells. Case, fans, hardware all play a role. My Define R4 currently has four intake and three exhaust, works good.
