ITX Build for gaming

Xplo1t

My goal was to build something that didn't take up much room, could hold decently powerful hardware and was easy to move around the house or travel.

Parts:

NZXT H1

Asus ROG Strix Z490-I Gaming

Intel 10700K

GSkill TridentZ 2x16GB 3200

Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1TB

Samsung 860 EVO 1TB

EVGA 2080 Super

Pelican 1460 Case

Originally, I was looking at a 10900k and 2080 Ti, but didn't really need the extra cores and heat and with the Ampere cards coming sometime soon, hoping to leverage the EVGA trade up if possible.

Nice build! Its very satisfying seeing the case fit so perfectly in the pelican.

I am far from an expert in this so please correct me if I’m wrong.

You got your hands on an H1 case.. I'm kind of jealous. It was never really available here... so I went with H210. The only thing I dIdn't like is the glass panel on the H1. Nothing to see really except the GPU logo...

Nice build! And the Pelican is awesome :)

As soon as they make a replacement mesh panel, I'm going that route.  It would help having another source for air.

@Fasauceome Won't you recommend him to change his PSU to the Silverstone Sugo SG13B? 😆😆😆😆

Too late I'm afraid

That pelican is sick too, love the heavy duty look.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

What was the experience building in the H1? I was just looking at it to build something similar for a living room/entertainment/VR PC. Mine would be slightly lower spec. Won't be building it until early next year though so likely whatever the Ampere equivalent of a 2060 is and 4000 series Ryzen 5.

It's very easy to build in.  I put it together while taking a work call in about 30 minutes.  Some of the issues I found are that depending on the location of your on-board DP or HDMI, that may be blocked by the case frame.  I also wish that NZXT went the extra mile and built a USB hub on the back since you have to turn the case on it's side every time you want to plug something in.

However, NZXT builds quality cases.  They are well felt, fit together well, side panels are rugged and stay in place, plus their tool-less features are well thought out.  Built in a lot of cases, and the H1 and H710 are two of the best I've worked with.
