Does 1155 = 1155? Chipset is what matters.

It might require a BIOS update if it's on a chipset that released with Sandy Bridge (2xxx series), prior to Ivy Bridge (3xxx series).

that socket is for sandy/ivy bridge cpu's and that cpu is an ivy bridge but as people have said, you need to look at the motherboard cpu compatibility list to check what bios is needed for that cpu and see if its already got it installed or not.
