I thought the new gen cards didn't make a lot of difference with overclocking?

Depends on the model.

What's wrong with Asus? My 960 is a Strix and I really like it.

Nothing is wrong with Asus, I like Asus as well. It's the Asus TUF GAMING OC that I'm not a big fan of when other models are so close in price. The Asus TUF gaming series of graphics cards isn’t really describing how TUF the graphics card is, but rather a collaboration between Asus and several major PC-component manufacturers. They call it the the TUF Gaming Alliance. Manufacturers include trusted brands such as Antec, Apacer, Ballistix, Cooler Master, Corsair, Deepcool, Enermax, G.Skill, GeIL, ID-COOLING, In Win, Scythe, SilverStone, T-FORCE, and XPG and many more. I do like a lot of those companies and I also like that TUF Gaming products are rigorously tested for stability, durability and compatibility.

However, here are some things about the TUF GAMING OC to think about...

  • Plastic back-plate (not a huge factor and should still give some stability)
  • No LED lighting whatsoever (aesthetics, I do like LED lighting on my GPU)
  • No heat-pipes (and as a result, higher temps are expected when compared to other models)
  • Slightly lower pixel rate than other models (this one's pretty negligible)
  • Slightly lower texture rate (again, pretty negligible)
  • Noticeably lower Time Spy score
  • Just 1 DisplayPlay port (I'm able to look past this as it does have an HDMI and one DVI, but you do know a second monitor plugged in via HDMI or DVI may not get the 144 Hz GSync compatibility that the DisplayPlay port gets for a lot of monitors)

I'm not saying this GPU doesn't have its place in certain builds(even possibly your build) as it is a compact GPU and has a decent looking camouflage design. It also has dual ball fan bearings which promotes longer lifespan(around double, give or take of course) than sleeve-bearing.

It's all about personal preference really. Other models have 3 DisplayPorts. Other models have a metal back-plate. Other models have better OC potential. Other models have better LED lighting. Other models have heat-pipes. Etc, etc.

I actively went out of my way to buy a case with no window and only red front intake fans. Adding LEDs only makes it cost more and drops my interest in the product.

Currently I have my center 144hz monitor plugged in via DVI and 2 side monitors plugged in via DP to HDMI adapter. My AVR is just HDMI. None of them actually have a DP input. So I suppose that is something to consider. I need at least 4 ports. It's possible I'll eventually get a new monitor, maybe if double wides drop in price, but I'm not really looking to replace mine anytime soon.

Lol, I think I got screwed out of this game.  I watched the whole thing on twitch, where I have my uplay account connected, but it looks like they're literally just doing it based on the link...which I found out about like two days after it expired lmfao.

You're not missing out on much.

True haha, and I may have embellished: I had the stream open during the whole thing.  Oh well.
