Why are you getting a pre overclocked rtx 2080ti? Non overclocked is also enough for gaming

Why? A u12s can handle a 10600k fine.

I would get a 3700X or a 10600K. Then pair it with a $160-200 motherboard. If you want to save money, get a 3600. If you want to save money on a motherboard, get the B450 tomohawk. However at this price point I think a B550 would make more sense

Over a 100'c with 3900x stock is not what i would call "fine", see here, 85'c at the back of the board where the components blasting the heat through the pcb are on the other side.

 

Yes, it will work, but im seriously doubt longevity under heavy use. Amything over 3700x i would be hesitant to recommend on the b450 tomahawk, but to each his own.

 

Not that it will matter for op's likely fortnite ambitions with 16 cores for his game machine

If you are new to PCs, instead of dropping $2000 I’d suggest getting a $800 machine and seeing if you will actually pursue the hobby.

Few things:

- I would strongly advise against buying a PC, especially of this spec, right now. New GPUs should be launching in a few months, and there is a high chance performance will be better for the price.If you have to buy now however:

-2 questions. Will you be doing anything multi-threaded with system? And do you plan to play eSports titles at extremely high fps (probably on low or medium settings at 240+fps)

    -If you will only be gaming, consider trying to fit the 2080ti into your build. Its the best card at the moment, however the price is often hard to justify. You can save money in other      areas like getting a 3600, a cheaper air cooler, and only 16GB of ram. (16 is  plenty for gaming)

    -If you want to play at extremely high fps, then I would consider the 10600K and a Z490 board instead. This will give you the absolute maximum framerate. However, the 10600k      will lag behind the 3700X in any multicore workloads, and is more expensive.

-My list is what I would consider to be the best rounded build. But as I mention, for the absolute ultimate gaming experience, a 10600K and 2080ti is optimal, but not very cost effective.

This list is great. Just a note on the motherboard though. Hardware Unboxed found the VRMs to be inadequate for anything above a stock 10600K. If you want a cheap board that can handle overclocking, get the Asus Prime-P or the MSI A-Pro. Otherwise this list is spot on

All these should be good for a 10600K. Pick the one with the best I/O and aesthetics for you

I wouldn't buy a PC right now; though if you're going with the 10600k, that's fine, just don't buy a top tier GPU, get something used and then buy a new card when they come out in a few months. Buying a top tier card right now makes absolutely no sense.

Overclocked gives better results. So. That's probably why. "Enough for gaming" makes absolutely no sense.
