I'm bothered by that post counter below your avatar in every post you make. What's the point having that counter? Does higher count means we can trust your opinion? Can someone explain that to me? :D Thanks!

The post counter lets other users know how many posts you have made. with the exception of off topic, i have been told.

post counter doesn't mean much. to me it just means how active you are on the site.

Other peoples opinions are just that, opinions. Don't trust some over others.

If you're looking for facts, it's great to get a few ideas, but at the end of the day you should really be researching it yourself.

With forums I generally get ideas, and from those ideas I have a better defined area to do my research in. Or they'll give you ideas that you might not have thought of, like using a Xeon in place of an i5 for a non OC system.

I think it's more towards being able to see who's contributed the most over time to the forum as a whole. It seems like a decent way of seeing how long someone has really been a member of the forum.

Lots of forums have it so why not!

Is this the real life? Or is this just fantasy?

I know tons of people that have over 1,000 posts that got them in a hurry.  While post count can indicate they may have a better idea of what they're talking about, it's not always final.

If you do decide to take someones word for something, if they post sources for their info, try to cross reference it before being swayed with their opinions.

I always try my best before quoting someones opinion to double check what I'm saying before I open my mouth, so I don't look like an idiot. xD
