How are computers cooled in space?

In short the answer is yes you can cool a CPU in space. As many have now pointed out above, you do it through radiation instead of air, so it's a lot less efficient but there is no  other way as air is lacking up there. Therefore the practical problem would be to get a surface large enough to dissipate the generated heat and have efficient transfer of heat from the CPU to that surface.
