Just get a Vesa mount stand and screw it to the back of the TV. Otherwise, you can get a piece of 1/2" ply and drill holes where the holes are located on the back TV and fix something together. Just keep in mind the weight - I don't care how thin these new TV's are - they're still at least 100lbs or more.

I have a 50" Plasma and with it's base/stand, it weighs just about 63lbs (58lbs without the base), and Plasma TV's tend to be heavier since the front panel is actual glass. An LED TV would defo be lighter. An older cathode LCD TV might be heavier. It would be best for the OP @doubleagent214 to tell us the specific weight of his TV, rather than making an assumption one way or the other.

  • 5 months later...

Still looking for a TV stand, and looking for something to replace the default stand for it is bent. I would rather not get a entertainment stand for I already have one. Foremost the TV is about 50ish pounds, I don't know exactly, but similar tvs by the OEM weigh about 47 pounds.
