I am only getting 3.8 GHz at 1.3V (it's on auto, but that's what its at) when overclocking my 1600af. Wont boot with 1.3V override at 3.9 GHZ. Is this normal? Gamers nexus uses 4.2 as their oc'd option for this chip. Auto voltage said i could get 3.9 at 1.35V, but I thought it was generally not good to run above 1.3V. Auto also wants 1.45 V to run at 4.1 GHz. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

bad silicon is possible

especially considering the 1600 af is a lower binned 2600

Hi guys i got couple of questions. Im stuck on overclocking new cpu 1600 AF,i manage to get at 1.2v 3.6ghz,because on stock settings Volts was pumping up at 1.34+ for 3.5ghz.
After few hours stock speed goes back to stock 3.2ghz,volts remains as i set in bios 1.2
Motherboard is B450 Tomahawak Max
And i only change the clock speed and voltage in bios, XMP profile to 3200mhz cl16
Whats wrong with this CPU? Anyone know the solution or have similar problems?
I can give you screenshoots if you needed

Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but stock may be 1.34+ periodically but will sit lower generally. I think stock boosting doesn't work all that great also. This is different than speeds you'd get while overclock ff you set a constant voltage of like 1.3V or so it can probably reach a static speed of anywhere from 3.8 to 4 ghz

I somehow fixed issue with cpu speed returning to the stock speed 3.2ghz. The problem was Ryzen Master, some profile override my bios settings (i dont turn off pc offten, maybe i was open Ryzen master and he revert speed with profile). I uninstaled Ryzen Master and put 1.28 V for 3.7 stable oc.
With same voltage i crash at 3.8. I want to use 24/7 overclock, for daily use and same time safe with no degration or thermals issue.

In my experience and from speaking to colleagues Ryzen first and second gen chips overclocking ability is terrible, and only worthwhile if you have a non-X chip to try to get close to an X chip.
